Jump bail and skip-tracer lommy Nowak (clint castwood) will track you down before the ink on your fake l.D. is dry. He always gets his man. But will he also get his woman (Bernadette Peters) - especially one who's got an infant in her arms, a cool quarter-million in the trunk of a stolen 59 Caddy and an army of machine-gunning goons on her trail?

In Eastwood's wily performance, Nowak has style to burn. He's a master of disguises who will become a radio DJ, a rodeo clown, a Vegas-style huckster or a leering country bumpkin to nab his target. As Nowak's mischievous quarry Lou Ann, Peters effortlessly slaps the cuffs on her leading man's heart. Supporting players Geoffrey Lewis (as a zonked-out hippie), William Hickey (as a sympathetic trailer-park manager) and future superstar Jim Carrey (in a memorable few seconds as a Reno lounge entertainer) also help make this action comedy vehicle a sure-handler.
